Dear Colleagues,

the UIP-World Congress this year in Monaco is now history. Please read the detailed report by Steve Zimmet report world congress.pdf.

During the congress the new Executive Committee (EXECOM) has been elected in Monaco as follows:
Angelo Scuderi from Brazil is the new President-elect, starting after my presidency  in 2011 after the Chapter Meeting in Prague.
Old and new General Secretary is Ivan Staelens (Benelux Society of Phlebology)
The new Assistant General Secretary is P.L. Antignani (Italian College of Phlebology)and as Treasurer remains Jean Jerome Guex (French Society of Phlebology).

Five new Vice Presidentials have been elected for four years:
• Mehmet Kurtoglu (Turkish Society of Phlebology)
• Nick Morrison (American College of Phlebology)
• Felizitas Pannier (German Society of Phlebology)
• Kurosh Parsi (Australasian College of Phlebology)
• Armando Schapira (Sociedad Argentina de Flebologia y Linfologia)

Congratulations to all of them!

I have to thank those colleagues of the former EXECOM of the UIP who were not or could not be reelcted in Monaco for their active cooperation in the last four years which was mandatory for the active role which UIP played in international phlebology. It was a real pleasure to work with all of them and many advances would not have been possible without their activities.

The next  World Congress of the UIP will take place in Boston / USA, organized by Nick Morrison and the American College of Phlebology.
